RAPID-FIRE Q/A
Three words to describe you? curious, silly, passionate
What was your first arts "aha" moment, including how old were you? My sister and I grew up taking turns singing in the car; our mom timed our “stage” time. As a 4-year-old, I’d always reach the best part of my improvised songs when the timer went off. It taught me I had a lot to share, and the arts gave me space to find it. Even though I didn't want to share time with my sister then, we love to sing together now!
Why are you a teaching artist? I am an artist today because of my teachers, and it means so much to nurture what they've shared with me and pass it on to the next generation of amazing artists. To create space for exploration, self-expression, and discovery through movement.
In five words or less, why do you love your art form? There is always another way!
Finish the sentence: "Because of Arts Ed..." Students can develop a common language of curiosity and connectivity.
What does success look like during your residency? My hope is that each student feels seen and leaves a class having not only learned something but also experienced the process of wondering, experimenting, and figuring something out in their own way.
What’s an important life skill you gained through the arts? I am always a student
Who is an artist that changed your life? My teachers!
If you were entering a talent show, what would be your specific talent? Hula hooping. I am excellent at hula hooping.
Do you have a secret (or not so secret) obsession? Granola!!!
