The Art and History of Bookmaking - Nadine Lloyd
Students create a handmade book using the Coptic stitch or Japanese book binding technique. The history and craft of book binding is studied and the importance of journals, field notebooks and sketchbooks throughout history. The final project can connect to social studies, language arts, or science standards depending on teacher preferences.
