Building Cultural Awareness: From Missoula to Guinea - Oumar Keita & Heidi Keita
Learning about another culture helps students discover the importance of cultural diversity and leads to appreciation and cooperation. In this residency, students will learn traditional dances from Guinea, identify their own culture and create an expressive dance that demonstrates a cultural practice. They will deepen awareness and respect for differences and similarities among diverse cultural groups and experience traditions that are still practiced.
