Historical Molten Physics of Iron Foundry - Jesse Blumenthal
Students explore physics through the history and operation of metal foundry. After discussing the history and science of the medium, students will be able to carve into depressions in resin bonded sand to create molds into which cast iron will be poured by the artist. Students will examine their own personal histories, and create an art tile that reflects a symbol of their heritage to be immortalized in metal.
