Programs and/or events available :
The Missoula Monster Project: Originally conceived by nine year-old Asa Smetanka, this show is a collaboration between children and adult artists, working together to create “monster art” based on monsters dreamed up by the children. The Missoula Monster Project will be an annual collaboration with SPARK and MCPS and will cumulate in a show in our gallery every September showcasing MCPS students and professional artist’s work. This program is being offered free to 3 elementary schools-Kindergarten only.
Residencies and visual art classes in many mediums including printmaking and clay are available.
Future possibilities include: School of Rock, a program designed to build self esteem and inspiration through music exploration, teach the fundamentals of playing in a band, drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals, song writing, and generally finding your own unique rocking voice! And ultimately to get kids making music together and performing on stage!
