All Grade Levels, Dance & Dance Integration, Dance Teaching experience
DISCIPLINE // Dance & Dance Integration
BIO // Laurel has a wide range of teaching experience that ranges from creative movement for pre-Kindergarten to theory and research for University students. Currently Laurel teaches ages 6-16 in a dance studio setting, Creative Movement through UM Children’s Dance, and as an Adjunct at the University of Montana. Her experience includes designing and teaching semester-long programs, as well as one-time guest artist classes.
ARTIST STATEMENT // “I am a teacher, mover, performer, and creator. In the Dance Classroom I believe we can all be these four things for one another. As we create together, we teach one another, we share our creations through performance, and begin the cycle again: New ideas, excitement, and imagination flesh out the creative experience. It is vital that all children get the opportunity to experience kinesthetic learning, and I believe that adding an expressive element allows for further exploration into the self and the world around us.”
